PayGo 101 
 
PayGo is a simple and efficient way to pay for Workers’ Comp coverage. Payments are based on actual payrolls instead of estimates for the policy term
Audit pain and surprises are reduced as payments are calculated solely on reported payrolls. If employees are properly classified you’ll increase the accuracy of your premium payments and could reduce credit risk.
Payments are generated as payroll is reported, spreading payments throughout the year and eliminating large, beginning of term payments
Coverage and rates are the same as traditional payment plans, however, using a PayGo solution yields better cash flow and predictability of premiums as it accounts for seasonality and payroll variances

Scott’s 40+ years in the Payroll business brings unprecedented service bureau perspective to every PayGo solution. He joined SmartPay in 2014 and prior to that he served as VP and General Manager for several Ceridian offices, during his long tenure. Scott worked with a software development firm specializing in SaaS- based, Human Capital Management solutions helping to define needs for independent payroll providers. His effort helped mold an industry- leading, SaaS based application used by 150+ payroll providers paying over 3 million employees. Scott attended Portland State University where he focused on Business Management. He supports several children’s charities and Alzheimers organizations.
Bob offers 30+ years of financial management experience coupled with service as a trusted advisor to multiple Boards of Directors. He joined SmartPay in 2014 as CFO/ COO leading the formation of Mr. Bully Holdings, which acquired SmartPay Solutions. Bob has vast financial and business management experience in the pharmaceutical industry as CFO at both Melinta Therapeutics and Pharmion Corporation as well as in International financial and business performance management with Astra/AstraZeneca. During his tenure at Price Waterhouse Bob worked with tech-backed start-ups, middle market companies, and in M & A due diligence. He has his B.S. in Finance and an M.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Missouri- Columbia. Bob coached youth soccer and is an avid cyclist. In his 16+ years riding the Pan Mass Challenge he’s raised $250,000+ for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
In Jim’s 25+ years of technical, business unit, product management and business development experience he has led early stage, fast growth and established high tech organizations. Jim joined SmartPay in 2015 as Chief Technology Officer and Board member following senior management, technical roles at Sycamore Networks, Sirocco Systems, and Lucent Technologies/ Ascend and Cascade Communications. Prior to his civilian sector work, Jim served as a submarine officer in the US Navy’s Ballistic Missile Program. Jim is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of New Haven, with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Jim donates countless hours teaching and coaching youth hockey and supports the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Senior finance executive with more than 30 years of accounting, finance and product management experience. Prior to SmartPay Dane had several roles including CFO, Director of Finance, and Controller in several rapid growth, multi-location, companies in the Health Club, Spa, Consulting and Biotech industries. Dane is a graduate of The University of Connecticut with a degree in Accounting and Finance. Dane played varsity soccer at UConn and is a former high school junior varsity soccer coach.
Dino has more than 35 years in the insurance industry specializing in workers’ compensation. He brings a vast network of multidisciplinary connections to every client discussion. Prior to co-founding SmartPay, Dino was President of one of Connecticut’s oldest retail insurance agencies. Leveraging his extensive agency background, his expertise is as a pay- as- you- go leader, when explaining the power and potential benefits PayGo brings to all stakeholders. Dino works with carrier partners to develop and support sales and marketing efforts for their pay-as-you-go programs. He has taken an active role in his community- serving on numerous boards and participating in multiple youth sports programs. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Finance.
